
Lebanon for Development – LFD, is a non-for-profit non-governmental organization founded in 2008, whose tenets are integrity & creativity, education & empowerment, sustainability & harmony, diversity & affirmative inclusion, participatory decision-making & self-determination, equity & justice, solidarity & shared profitability.
LFD aims to promote innovative economic strategies to support and enhance the living conditions of local communities in Lebanon, especially the most underserved, through social and economic initiatives and conventions, cultural activities as well as educational, medical aid and relief campaigns.
LFD works in solidarity with local stakeholders so they can thrive and grow in a harmonious and sustainable manner. LFD also acts as a facilitator to empower, equip & strengthen the capacity of individuals, the public sector, community based collectives & non-governmental organizations, providing them with the needed and requested knowledge and know-how, resources, services, skills, tools & equipment.
LFD works with a special emphasis on municipalities, union of municipalities, disadvantaged and at-risk local stakeholders (women, children, youth & their families/guardians, gifted communities, cultural & ethnic minorities, poor & working class, artists & environment workers, special-needs and others) especially in under-served areas and support them to build partnerships with local and international public and private sector actors/donors to sustain their growth and development.
LFD is committed to:
- Develop innovative and practical strategies to solve national economic and social problems and create optimal approaches to sustain them
- Enhance the living conditions of Lebanese citizens by creating a link between policy makers and affected communities
- Promote and expand economic and cultural opportunities in Lebanon
- Provide aid and relief services to regions that are affected by natural and/or manmade disasters
- Sensitize the Lebanese expatriates through various initiatives to encourage them to invest in Lebanon
- Initiate and implement intercultural and cross cultural initiatives and activities
- Support sustainable development in various sectors (education, agriculture, industry, environment, etc.)
LFD team gathers management consultants, project managers, expert workers (in the fields of engineering, technology, media & communication, training & education, finance, health and environment as well as legal services, etc.) who have an established local and international experience in consultancies and field work based on alliances and networking with local and international innovative movements and NGOs, social change agents, corporate and businesses, artists, Lebanese and Arab World Diaspora philanthropists, International Donors and UN agencies who are committed to support the empowerment of local communities and groups in achieving sustainable development and growth.
LFD members have been active in social and economic development for more than a couple of decades. Their local, international and regional experience allows them to foster and promote innovative practices in the public and private sectors, equally.
LFD was established and got officially registered in 2008 under the number 46 و
